Lemon is an age old home remedy for treating itchy skin. It has anti-inflammatory properties. Lemon juice can be applied directly on the affected parts and leave it for 15-20 minutes. Wash it with cold water after it dries.

Baking Soda is an effective remedy for treating skin irritation. Dilutes solution of baking soda can be prepared by mixing 1 part of baking soda along with 3 parts of water. This mixture should be applied on the skin to treat skin irritation.

Olive oil is also known to soothe the irritated skin. Olive oil or Vitamin oil should be applied on the affected areas to get rid of skin allergies or rashes.

Aloe Vera is another beneficial home remedy for skin irritation. Aloe Vera gel should be applied on the inflamed skin to reduce the itching.

Ice cube should be rubbed on the affected skin. Ice produces a soothing effect on the irritated skin and reduces the skin irritation.

Washing the irritated skin with chamomile tea also works well to reduce the effect and damage.

Honey possesses healing properties. Honey should be applied on the skin to prevent the skin irritation. Honey can also be mixed with egg white as it relieves the burning sensation.
