Home treatments for Malaria
High fever accompanied by chills, headache and shivering can be Malaria. The fever may occur in alternate days or every day. The main cause of malaria is a tiny parasite called Plasmodium. Malaria can be treated at home.
Some useful home remedies to treat Malaria are:
Boil cinnamon powder in a glass of water. Add a pinch of pepper powder and honey. Drinking this mixture can provide relief from malaria to a great extent.
Grapefruit is another good home remedy to cure malaria. Grapefruit should be taken daily to treat malaria.
The seeds of the fever nut plant are another effective remedy for malaria.
The leaves of Datura plant are also useful in treating malarial fever.
30 grams of lemon juice dissolved in 60 ml of water should be taken before the onset of fever.
Roast alum over a hot plate and then powder it. Take a tsp of it when you have fever. It is a useful remedy for curing malaria.
If the malaria is at the initial stages, an orange juice and water diet can help to treat it.
Apply cold packs on forehead for fever in malaria. The cold packs should be applied every two to three hours. This will help to maintain the body temperature.
Take tulsi leaves and honey. Mix and form a paste. Take a couple teaspoons twice daily to cure malaria.
Boil a small piece of ginger along with 2-3 teaspoon of raisins and reduce it to half the original quantity. Consume the decoction after it cools down.
Take one glass of water in a vessel and add honey, pepper powder and cinnamon powder to it. Boil this mixture for some time and then allow it to cool down. Drinking this concoction is highly beneficial in malaria. This is one of the very effective home remedies for malaria.
Diet to be followed during malaria:
Diet is the most important in treatment of malaria. Fresh fruits diet must be followed for a few days. Milk can be added to that later on. Emphasis should be laid on fresh fruits, fruit juices and raw vegetables.
Junk food should strictly be avoided. Spicy and oily food should not be taken in any circumstances.
Malaria can be prevented by keeping the surroundings clean.
